Copyright and removal requests
HeyJared is operated by HeyYou, Inc. We respect the work of the writers, hosts and creators we index. If something on HeyJared is yours and you want it changed or taken down, tell us and we will act on it quickly. You do not need a lawyer or a formal notice to do that.
What we show#
HeyJared is a media research index. For each outlet, podcast, newsletter, video channel or reporter, a public page may show:
- the channel's name, its public description and a small thumbnail of its logo or cover art;
- titles, dates and a short excerpt of each article, issue, episode or video, with a link to the original;
- counts, topics and tone that we calculate ourselves.
We do not host audio or video, full articles or transcripts. Every item links back to where it was published.
Ask us to remove something#
If you own a show, channel or publication and want its page, its artwork or its excerpts removed or corrected, email hey@heyjared.ai with the HeyJared page address and what you would like changed. We aim to act within two business days. Pages we remove are also dropped from our sitemap so search engines stop showing them.
Copyright (DMCA) notices#
If you prefer to send a formal notice under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512), send it to our designated agent below. To be effective, the notice must include:
- a physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or a person authorized to act for them;
- identification of the copyrighted work you say is infringed;
- identification of the material on HeyJared you want removed, with its page address (URL);
- your name, address, telephone number and email address;
- a statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent or the law;
- a statement that the information in the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the owner or authorized to act for the owner.
Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f), a person who knowingly misrepresents that material is infringing may be liable for damages. When we remove material in response to a notice, we may share a copy of the notice with the Lumen database.
Counter notices#
If material you provided was removed and you believe that was a mistake, you may send a counter notice to our designated agent. It must include your signature; identification of the removed material and where it appeared; a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief it was removed by mistake or misidentification; and your name, address and telephone number with a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for your address (or, if you are outside the United States, any district where HeyYou, Inc. may be found) and will accept service from the person who sent the original notice.
Repeat infringers#
We will end, in appropriate circumstances, the accounts of users who repeatedly infringe the copyrights of others.
