Sour Cycles Pasta Party 32 review: this intriguing half-prototype has convinced me about 32in wheels for XC bikes | BikeRadar (opens the original)
Read excerpt
Sour Cycles’ Pasta Party 32 is one of the few 32in mountain bike frames you can go out and buy. However, you’ll have to be smart with your component sourcing to track down compatible forks, wheels and tyres for a complete build. This steel frame was built up with a raft of Hayes Bicycle Group products, including a prototype 32in Manitou R8 suspension fork. As such, it’s not a production bike per se, but it gave me a chance to sling a leg over a big-wheeled bike to see what all the fuss is about.
adidas gives new Freerider shoes the three stripes treatment – with better protection, comfort and grip | BikeRadar (opens the original)
Read excerpt
adidas has revamped its off-road shoes line-up with four new Freerider models, aimed at riders of all levels up to World Cup pros. adidas' Five Ten range built an enviable reputation over the past couple of decades, with a raft of shoes that are as iconic as MTB footwear can get. In 2027, a new range of shoes bearing the Freerider name will hit the shops, with a full rework across the line-up. The Five Ten branding shuffles towards the back of the shoe, where the logo is traditionally located on
Giro Chamber TR review: fast and fairly light trail shoes that fall short on protection and value | BikeRadar (opens the original)
Read excerpt
Giro has drawn on its popular Chamber shoe line-up with a lighter TR (trail) version, which feels better suited to longer days in the hills rather than all-out gravity riding. At £184.99 / $219.95 / €209.99, they're not cheap MTB shoes, so they really need to impress on the trail. On paper, they have some neat features, including an ankle gaiter, plenty of ventilation panels and a stiff, efficient sole. They are suited to long rides in the hills and are even adept at some big-mountain epics than
Scott Spark DC 10 first-ride review: new Spark proves downcountry isn't dead | BikeRadar (opens the original)
Read excerpt
Scott’s new Spark DC 10 shows the Swiss brand is doubling down on lightweight trail bikes for 2027 – and if this is the future, it’s a bright one. A couple of years ago, you couldn’t move for the new breed of downcountry bikes, longer-travel rigs spawned from the latest generation of go-fast cross-country race bikes. Almost every XC bike seemed to have a DC sibling, which gave brands the opportunity to increase their line-up and offer a wider range of bike models from a single set of frame mould
Ride Concepts Men’s Accomplice Clip BOA review: MTB shoes that feel like slippers but take too long to dry | BikeRadar (opens the original)
Read excerpt
The Ride Concepts Accomplice Clip BOA is a great-looking trail and enduro clipless shoe that garners plenty of attention on the trail and comes in at a mid-priced £159.95 / $176. The Accomplice is well-padded, comfortable and efficient on the pedals. However, its bulk adds warmth and slows the drying time. Ride Concepts' Accomplice shoes have a simple padded-mesh upper that’s tightened using a single Boa dial. The outer material is hardwearing, barely scuffing up through abrasion and shrugging o
