A CANOEIST clinging to rocks off Gourock was rescued by the Helensburgh lifeboat team over the weekend. The RNLI crew was called out at 3.15pm on Sunday, August 30 following a request to assist a capsized canoeist off Gourock ferry terminal. EMERGENCY services have been called to the scene of a multi-vehicle crash near Largs. Eyewitnesses are reporting extensive tailbacks on the A78 following the collision on the trunk road between Largs and Skelmorlie. It is understood that traffic is currently being diverted away from the area. The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service has confirmed that one appliance has been sent to the incident, and there are no reported casualties.
