Combine them, and you have Clippings, the ongoing exhibit at the Arts Council of Kern celebrating the 160th anniversary of The Bakersfield Californian. Due to extraordinary public response and interest, the Arts Council and newspaper have extended Clippings' run through Oct. 10, to include downtown's popular Second Saturday. The free exhibit will be open 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. that day. Sorry, there are no recent results for popular videos.

Read excerpt
The annual Westchester 4th of July event took on a different form Saturday as neighbors gathered at Jastro Park for a new patriotic celebration. After the cancellation of the parade that used to run through nearby streets, residents instead met at the park for a ceremony that included a rendition of the national anthem and a posting of the colors by members of The Sons of the American Revolution.
