Cool Airmass Passing by to our North (opens the original)
Read excerpt
LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - A cool airmass has reached south into the Texas Panhandle. The southern edge of the cool airmass will stall out over the Hill Country during Tuesday, leaving our area in a hot, marginally moist airmass. Lifted air will be marginally buoyant to rise to form or maintain tall clouds that could produce showers. Isolated sea breeze showers are possible late Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons, but it would take a bit of luck to have one pass over any given spot. Copyright 2026 KGNS
Still Hot, Slight Shower Chance Friday (opens the original)

LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - The atmosphere above is quite moist. A layer of warm air at about 10,000 altitude is making it hard for air to rise to form tall rain clouds. Read excerpt
LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - After a drier atmosphere brought clear skies Tuesday, gulf moisture will return above our area with afternoon cumulus clouds. I will watch the sea breeze Wednesday, but our slight chances of showers is highest on Thursday and Friday afternoons. Chance. A weak wave in the upper level wind flow will move in from the northwest Sunday night beginning another opportunity for scattered showers. Copyright 2026 KGNS. All rights reserved.
Still Hot, Slight Shower Chances (opens the original)
Read excerpt
LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - The dome of hot air over the central and southern Great Plains continues to block cool airmasses from reaching south Texas. Somewhat more moist air Thursday and Friday may edge in from the gulf bringing slight chances of sea breeze showers. A wave in the upper level wind flow from the northwest brings a slight chance Sunday night or Monday. Copyright 2026 KGNS. All rights reserved.
More Heat, Slight Shower Chance Thursday (opens the original)
Read excerpt
LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - The western edge of a humid airmass over the gulf has been sufficient for showers and thundershowers with and in advance of the sea breeze to reach our area in scattered fashion. Drier air will filter in from the west during Friday, ending most of our shower chances. A weak upper level disturbance moving west from the gulf will bring another chance during Sunday.
