PELLA â Pella Christian stuck with the high-powered offense of Centerville for most of the night in their district showdown on Friday but ultimately the Eagles would end up falling, 30-12. The Big Reds had a touchdown and two-point conversion in each of the first two quarters while Pella Christian scored but failed on their two-point try to trail 16-6 at the half. It was a mixed night for the Pella offense as their two scores came in the second quarter with quarterback Griffin Simpson throwing touchdown passes to Logan Van Den Broek and William Schuknecht. That was all the offense needed for the Dutch as the Bombers were held off the scoreboard all night
Dutch looking to build off back-to-back trips to the Dome (opens the original)
Read excerpt
PELLA â Following back-to-back trips to the UNI Dome and the Class 4A State Finals, second-year head coach Ben Bollard will have to replace a big senior class that featured five all-state players from a squad that finished 11-2. The Dutch will have a new quarterback this season but a semi-familiar one, with Griffin Simpson returning. Simpson was in the running for the starting job last year before ultimately becoming the backup. He was 18-of-28 passing for 216 yards with two touchdowns and one
