Last Saturday Cillian Gleeson (Celbridge AC) travelled from his training base at the University of Wisconsin to Eugene, Oregon for the World U20 Track and Field Championships. Gleeson will compete in the 5,000m, his first World Championship event on the first day of competition at 4.20pm Irish time. Last weekend's National Senior Championships were run in a packed Morton Stadium with record numbers in attendance on both days.
