A ferry from Dublin was holed at port - with 500 tonnes of water flooding into an engine room. The Stena Line Estrid vessel was sailing into Anglesey, north Wales from Dublin, with 157 passengers and crew on board. In the incident at 7.50am on January 7 this year, the ferry - which was being assisted by a tug boat - made contact with an unprotected turning fender as it turned before "backing in".
