    The Minnesota Department of Transportation has rescheduled culvert replacement work on Highway 1 located 7.6 miles southeast of Highway 1 in Ely or 0.7 miles northwest of the Birch River Dam to start Sept. 24. This work will require a detour using New Tomahawk Rd to Scott Rd/Ely-Babbitt Rd to County Rd 21 N. Work is being rescheduled because work on New Tomahawk Rd is complete.     The Minnesota Department of Transportation has returned traffic control to signalized intersections on Sheridan Street in Ely on Aug. 25. The intersections at Central Ave and Third Avenue East had been flashing red with stop signs.
