Longtime Davidson County Commissioner Fred McClure has died. He was 84 years old. McClure was serving his eighth non-consecutive term. His current term was set to expire in December 2028. According to the Davidson County government website, McClure first served as a Commissioner from 1994 to 2002. He was re-elected in 2004. He was a past president of the North Carolina Association of County Commissioners, a position that has not been held by any other commissioner in Davidson County.
