Reflections – Commercial television aptly named (opens the original)

Excerpt · Critical tone · English

For those of you who memorize all my columns, you’ll likely recall that I first broached the subject of the commercial glut on traditional broadcast and cable television in 2017. Since this topic continues to irritate me even more than having a rat gnaw on my ribs, I decided to revisit it. After all, a boiling pot needs to vent. Excerpt · Neutral tone · English

    Read excerpt

Things that taste good invariably are bad for us. Bad to the bone. A steady diet of cheesecake, waffles and potato chips is not the ticket to eternal life. Which is why I bear glad tidings that life doesn’t always jump on us like we’re a furniture store mattress. Indeed, dark chocolate is the manna of the gods. Not only does dark chocolate shift salivary glands into fourth gear, it enhances brain and heart health, reduces stress, improves mood, shrinks inflammation, strengthens the immune system
