The intersection fo 5th and Wilshire is currently closed while police investigate a possible hit and run at the location. Officials sent out a notification of the road closure at about 6:45 on Thursday night and witnesses said a pedestrian was struck while crossing the street. The car was reported to have left the scene and the victim transported in an ambulance. SMPD investigators are currently working the scene and residents are asked to stay out of the area if possible.
