CANUTILLO, TEXAS — The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office has closed several streets in Canutillo because of downed electrical wires. Second, Third and Fourth streets at La Mesa Street are blocked. As of 12:33 a.m., El Paso Electric’s outage map showed 3,603 customers without power in the area. El Paso Electric crews are working to clear the scene. Fire damages vacant Central El Paso home El Paso firefighters responded early Tuesday to a fire at a vacant home in Central El Paso. The fire was reported at about 2:47 a.m. in the 3700 block of Morehead Avenue, near Stevens Street. The El Paso Fire Department said the home was vacant. Twelve units and 30 firefighters responded to the Condition 2 fire, which was extinguished by 3:59 a.m. No injuries or transports were reported. Fire investigators were headed to the scene to determine the cause.
