I visited Hunter Bookstore over the weekend. Quite crowded, with a slight ‘closing down sale” vibe – though the store is issuing customer-loyalty cards as if it expects to be around for the long term. As well as some local volumes, a lot of the stock comprises Taiwan-published translations of international works, including a nice selection of Japanese manga, such as the magnificent Spy Family and, of course, Hunter X Hunter. Among the possibly subversive titles on sale: several by Hannah Arendt;
