Koro Ibo, Oladejo and Lagos APC search for ransom (opens the original)

Last Thursday, I found myself in a “political” space with the Director General of the Bola Tinubu/Kadri Obafemi Hamzat Campaign Council of the Lagos chapter of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Musiliu Obanikoro. Penultimate Friday, I had seen him on the big screen at the inauguration of the campaign council and dismissed the slim-fit image of his appearance as just some smooth digital enhancement, known among tech guys as filter, especially when what looked like a bulge on his

IN 2023, of the 8,794,726 votes that sent Mr. Bola Tinubu to Aso Rock presidential villa, only 2,279,407 of them, representing just a little above 25% of the total, came from his South West stock. Today’s president, then a leading aspirant, reportedly “slumped” on the laps of a form

Another anarchist was on the prowl last week. He threatened to deny peaceful Nigerians their fundamental and constitutional right to live in Kuje council area if they don’t vote for his preferred candidate in next year’s general election. His name is Samuel Shekwolo. He’s supposed to be the number one citizen of the council area, responsible to the residents and for their collective wellbeing, particularly security and safety. Hear him: “I have said in my area council, it’s either you are doing

THE headline of this column isn’t original to me. I had titled the piece “Osun and what belongs to Caesar” before a beloved uncle currently holidaying in Atlanta captioned the now-viral video of the Thursday encounter between President Bola Tinubu and re-elected Osun governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, with the phrase and I couldn’t resist borrowing his thought. When I forwarded the video to him Friday morning while penning this, it didn’t quickly dawn on me it would still be pre-dawn over there.
