Beginning in fall 2027, Pacific University in Forest Grove will offer three-year bachelor’s degrees in chemistry, computer science and sustainability and adaptation, designed to move graduates more quickly into the workforce. University officials say the programs reduce the credits required for those degrees by one-quarter, a total of 96 credits, with 32 credits a year.

Around 12:49 p.m. Thursday, July 9, Beaverton Police Department officers responded to the Sunset Transit Center outside Beaverton city limits after an alleged stabbing stopped a TriMet MAX train traveling from Portland, according to the department. One person was reportedly pepper-sprayed and stabbed and was transported to a nearby hospital
