Masterson’s Under Milk Wood brings an entire Welsh town gloriously to life (opens the original)
Read excerpt
Taking on Dylan Thomas’s Under Milk Wood as a solo performer is the theatrical equivalent of climbing a mountain without ropes. Guy Masterson not only attempts it but makes the extraordinary feat look almost effortless. For more than three decades, Masterson has been performing his one-man interpretation of Thomas’s much-loved “play for voices” and the years have clearly done nothing to diminish its energy, humour or sheer theatrical inventiveness. The premise remains wonderfully simple. We spen

Read excerpt
There are some actors who walk on stage and immediately make you understand why everyone else in the play is prepared to put up with them. Tracy-Ann Oberman is one of them. Fresh from acclaimed runs at Chichester Festival Theatre and in London's Wes

Graham Greene's classic comedy Our Man in Havana remains a deliciously sharp blend of espionage, satire and farce, and this lively stage adaptation by Clive Francis touring to the Theatre Royal Bath to Saturday, August 8 proves that its wit has lost none of its bite. Set against the colourful backdrop of pre-revolutionary Cuba, the story follows vacuum cleaner salesman James Wormold, who stumbles into the world of British intelligence and discovers that fabricated secrets can become alarmingly r
