WINTHROP — Two new large-scale murals celebrating Winthrop’s history, literature and community traditions are now on display at Bailey Public Library, 39 Bowdoin St. The public is invited to view the murals and learn about the historical themes and local traditions that inspired the artwork. AUGUSTA — Workers last week added a steel beam to the original brick wall of the Augusta Colonial Theater, marking a milestone in the ongoing restoration of the 139 Water St. landmark. The latest phase of renovations includes raising the roof over the stage by approximately 7 feet. The adjustment expands the fly space to house theatrical curtains, backdrops and props.
