NEILLSVILLE, Wis. (WSAW) - The Highground Veterans Memorial Park sits on 155 acres outside Neillsville. It is a tribute to those who served, including the fallen and veterans who made it home. Part of the park is dedicated to conflicts in the Middle East, including Desert Shield, Desert Storm, Iraq and Afghanistan. WISCONSIN RAPIDS, Wis. (WSAW) - The Wisconsin Firefighters and EMS Memorial pays respects to those who lost their lives in the line of duty in Wisconsin. Inside the visitor center at the Wisconsin Rapids facility is a piece of the World Trade Center, the first target in the 9/11 attacks. It is a tribute to the firefighters who died that day. Matt Bentibegna, president of the Wisconsin Firefighters and EMS Memorial, said the tribute reflects a connection among firefighters regardless of location.
