The Yankees (once again) crush the Red Sox and advance to the next round - Dose.ca (opens the original)
Read excerpt
After watching the Yankees crush the Red Sox 9-0 last night, the Bombardiers had the chance to eliminate the Red Sox with another win tonight. While last night featured a showdown between young pitchers on the mound—Cam Schlittler and Payton Tolle—two seasoned veterans took the mound tonight. Max Fried was Aaron Boone's go-to guy, while Sonny Gray (with his poor track record in the Bronx) tried to save his team's season. We had to wait until the fourth inning for the first run: Luis Garcia Jr. s
Kirill Marchenko: Here’s what the CH was willing to give up for him - Dose.ca (opens the original)
Read excerpt
Kirill Marchenko has been on the Habs' radar over the past few months. And in the end, the Russian was traded… to Toronto. In return, the Blue Jackets acquired, among others, Matthew Knies, another player who was coveted by Kent Hughes. That's… not ideal. We know that the Canadiens, despite everything, pushed hard to acquire Marchenko. And David Pagnotta, who discussed the deal for DFO Insider tonight, talked about what the Canadiens were willing to offer to get him. The insider notes that names
The Predators are interested in three Canadiens defensemen - Dose.ca (opens the original)
Read excerpt
The Canadiens still have a surplus of left-handed defensemen within their organization. It's a lesser evil given the current situation with Kaiden Guhle sidelined, but it's still not ideal. As a result, in addition to Lane Hutson and Mike Matheson (who obviously have guaranteed spots), players like Arber Xhekaj, Jayden Struble, and Adam Engström have to compete for ice time. And in an ideal world, the Canadiens would probably like to add David Reinbacher (a right-hander) to their roster. That wo
Alexander Nikishin wanted to come play in Montreal - Dose.ca (opens the original)
Read excerpt
Alexander Nikishin is still a free agent at this time. The Hurricanes defenseman, who has asked the defending champions to trade him, has not yet found a new team. Several teams have been mentioned (the Jets, Predators, and Rangers, among others), but nothing has materialized. What we do know is that the Hurricanes have been working hard to trade him. The defenseman has been in talks with teams to find a way to reach an agreement. And according to David Pagnotta, who discussed all of this on DFO
“The CH will be looking to make a major addition, especially next summer.” - Dose.ca (opens the original)
Read excerpt
The Canadiens had a fairly quiet summer. The team wasn't able to land the young star they were after… and that was confirmed yesterday when the Maple Leafs acquired Kirill Marchenko (whose name was all over town this summer). The Habs did manage to acquire Chris Kreider… but that's it. And given that many people wanted to see the club pull off a major move this summer, this is a somewhat disappointing outcome. But now, according to Pierre LeBrun, those people may have to continue to be patient.
