Due to staging issues caused by the storm aftermath, the City of Evanston has moved Tuesday evening’s Starlight Concert Leah LoMar Park on Mulford Street to James Park at 300 Dodge Ave. The 6 p.m. concert will feature the Cecy Santana Band. City spokesperson Cynthia Vargas says forestry crews didn’t have enough time to clear the Mulford Street park of tree limbs damaged by Tuesday’s storm. The new location is about six blocks west of the original site for the concert.

The City of Evanston has announced that all of its parks and recreation community centers will close on Tuesday, Aug. 18, for department-wide staff training. City parks and beaches will remain open and operate as usual. The closures will include the Levy Senior Center, and the Chandler-Newberger, Fleetwood-Jourdain, Prieto and Robert Crown community centers and the Ecology Center.
