    SYRACUSE, N.Y. — The New York Lottery announced where the third-prize-winning POWERBALL tickets were sold. For the July 11 drawing, there were five third-prize tickets. They were sold in Bayside, The Bronx, New Hyde Park, Newburgh, and Syracuse. The winning ticket in Syracuse was sold at the Mirabito gas station at 415 Brighton Ave. The prize is worth $50,000. The Powerball drawing is televised Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 10:59 p.m. You can watch on NBC3 and CBS5 before the News at 11:00.

Tsigie Gebreselama of Ethiopia set a new record for the Boilermaker Women's Open with a time of 47:29, edging out the three-year-old record of 47:33 by Edna Kiplagat. Priscah Cherono of Kenya crushed the previous record in the Women's Master's Division at 48:15. The previous record was 49:11.
