Spotty storms through the weekend (opens the original)

The heat wave continues for us as high temperatures have soared back up into the low 90s for many. We have also seen scattered showers and thunderstorms through this afternoon and evening. Some of the rain has been quite heavy. We have more of this kind of activity ahead for the weekend. It won't be an all weekend rain, but you will want to keep an eye on the sky into the hottest part of both days. Some showers will be heavy again with the chance of some strong wind gusts. Many will keep dry and that front will help us keep cooler tomorrow. Monday's highs should only reach the low 80s and it will feel comfortable. Don't look now, but the heat is coming back starting Tuesd

Our last weekend of August is wrapping up and we have a lot of heat ahead of us. Highs got to around 90 degrees today, but Monday we will hit the low 90s and continue the climb from there. Be sure to stay safe this week in the heat and know your limits, especially if you work outdoors. Temperatures on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday will be in the mid 90s with heat index values between 99 and 103 degrees. Sunshine is going to be strong as well so be sure to keep the sunscreen on.
