LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Lexington Fire Chief Jason Wells announced he will retire from his position January 10th 2027. Wells’ family and members of the fire and police departments joined him for the announcement. Before the retirement announcement, flowers were given to Wells’ family, thanking them for sharing him for 31 years of service, six of them as chief. Wells was sworn in as chief in January 2021. Wells said the job required constant availability and thanked his family for their support.
