An impactful storm has arrived, and at least two more days of high wind and heavy rain are expected. This potent nor'easter is set to bring 30 to 50 mile per hour wind inland, 60 mile per hour wind or higher offshore, along with coastal flooding. Gusts reaching or surpassing 50 miles per hour have already been recorded as of Saturday morning. Saturday through Sunday, especially Sunday morning, winds will be highest and rain will be heaviest at times. While there will be some dry breaks, the heav

Wildfire smoke blanketing the region has dimmed the sun, leaving us with a yellow-orange haze. And, there is more of these other-worldly skies to come. Hundreds of wildfires currently burning in Canada and Minnesota actually remain uncontained at this time, which is causing dangerous plumes of smoke being carried by several fronts across the northeastern United States. This affect

Read excerpt
More rain en route! After a soaking rain drenched southern New England Monday, more is on the way. Rainfall totals came in between one and three inches Monday. Thankfully minimal flooding occured, thanks to slow-moving showers and no convective storms that could increase the intensity of showers. Today, the Flood Watch has been dropped from Connecticut, but scattered showers will continue across Massachusetts and Rhode Island with a slight risk of flooding, especially during the morning commute.
