Warming trend through the weekend (opens the original)
Read excerpt
We are entering a very warm and dry stretch as we close out September! The month of September ended up a little over 2 degrees cooler than average, and about a half inch drier than average at the Portland International Airport. We are certainly kicking off October on a warm note! Temperatures will be consistently 5-10 degrees warmer than normal through the middle of next week. We’ll likely enter a pattern of morning fog/low clouds to sunshine for the next several days. Skies will be mainly sunny

We got some unexpected pops of sunshine this afternoon, which bumped some metro area spots into the low 70s! The light rain stayed where we figured it would-- along the northern Oregon/Washington coastlines and north of Kelso. Rain amounts have been quite light. That system will continue to die this evening, so a few more sprinkles are possible in the same areas that have been seeing measurable rain. It looks like we’re seeing more sunshine this afternoon, so temperatures will likely keep climbing to around 80 degrees in the metro area. Still- cooler than what we expected for today! More sunsh

Lots of strikes happened along the North Oregon/South Washington coastlines as well. There was no measurable rainfall at PDX, but Scappoose picked up 0.40″ of rain. The clouds have not wanted to budge, so high temperatures may barely get to 70 degrees today. That system that brought us the excitement this morning will slowly keep trekking nort

It’s another gorgeous afternoon out there! Temperatures will end up a hair warmer than expected because we started a little bit warmer and the morning clouds mainly stuck to the coast. Highs will likely end up in the low 80s around the metro area. A surge of marine air will cloud us up a bit more tomorrow, and we’re expecting a very slow clearing throughout the day. That should keep our high temperatures in the mid to upper 70s. We start to warm back up on Sunday with more sunshine, but near-ave
