'A bad photo tells a story a perfect one can’t’: I spoke to the ‘world’s worst photographer’ about the importance of imperfection in photography (opens the original)
Read excerpt
Blanche Mortemard is the "world's worst photographer." I don't mean that as a rude comment — on the contrary, it's the sought-after and unique title bestowed upon the 28-year-old for winning a competition hosted by Icelandair (yes, the airline). Icelandair launched its Really Bad Photographer campaign in March 2026, to find the world's worst amateur photographer. After receiving 127,642 entries from 178 countries, Blanche came out on top when the winner was announced in June. The judges spent ov
I’ve loved typing on the Tecware Spectre 75 — but it falls flat in the face of fierce competition (opens the original)

The Tecware Spectre 75, on paper, sounds like a great mechanical keyboard — and it almost is. Its linear switches are responsive and lovely to type on, and the keyboard packs 1,000Hz polling for casual gamers. There’s also an LCD screen but janky companion software makes customization frustrating; stock switch choice is limited; the build and design are lackluster; and the keyboard becomes unresponsive after some time. Though it costs just $79, it’s not the best investment. Why you can trust Tom
I just tested Dell’s 4K 120Hz monitor with self-calibration and more ports than you could ask for — and it’s a winner (opens the original)

The Dell UltraSharp U3226Q is an exceptional 4K monitor for professional photographers, videographers, editors and creatives. It features built-in self-calibration to maintain its superb color accuracy day in and out, as well as outstanding color coverage. There are plenty of color modes, and there’s no shortage of ports either. Its 120Hz refresh rate and 0.03ms response time make it decent for gaming, too. If you can stomach the price tag, there aren’t many other pro monitors better than this.
I just tested the Turtle Beach Command Series KB5 — it’s a decent gaming keyboard but I’d love it more if it wasn’t for these flaws (opens the original)
Read excerpt
The Turtle Beach Command Series KB5 is a decent mechanical keyboard with in-demand gaming features like 8,000Hz polling and ReacTap. It boasts strong gaming performance, and it’s a delight to type on. Sturdy construction and a built-in touchscreen for on-the-fly customization are sure to tempt keyboard enthusiasts. But the KB5 isn’t perfect, and doesn’t necessarily offer bang for your buck. It isn’t hot-swappable and it can’t be used wirelessly. Oh, and it costs a pretty penny, too. Built-in tou
The Lola Miffy Digital Camera is the cutest camera I’ve ever tested — and it’s just so fun for everyday photography (opens the original)
Read excerpt
Does a camera cuter than the Lola Miffy exist? I highly doubt it. This Miffy-themed camera is extremely easy to use, and it features 20 filters and Miffy-themed frames for creative shots. It captures 8MP lo-fi images with a retro aesthetic, and records 4K video, too. Battery life doesn’t give you much to complain about either — but the slight shutter lag might. The camera also struggles in low light which is to be expected, given its tiny sensor. Cute design with friendship bracelet/camera strap
