Immersive DUNE: The Experience Launching in Los Angeles (opens the original)
Read excerpt
None of us can actually travel to Arrakis. I know because I’ve checked. Twice. But Denis Villeneuve’s Dune: Part Three won’t be the only way we can approximate a visit to Frank Herbert’s iconic planet this year. Legendary Entertainment and Warner Bros. Pictures are partnering with Fever to give fans another way to immerse themselves among the Fremen when DUNE: The Experience launches in Los Angeles in November. If you want to feel, hear, see, and even taste what it’s like on Arrakis you’ll get t
A24 Gives Robert Pattinson a Russian Nesting Doll Set (opens the original)
Read excerpt
Robert Pattinson is not only one of the best actors working today, he’s also one of the most interesting. The former Twilight star has leading man good looks. Yet, when it comes to choosing movies, he constantly makes delightfully weird and unexpected choices. That’s also an apt description for many of his performances in those movies. He could exclusively be doing standard rom-coms and traditional action movies. Instead, even as Bruce Wayne, he’s an enigma hiding inside a classically attractive
Alan Ritchson Joins Justin Lin's HELLDIVERS, Release Pushed to 2028 (opens the original)
Read excerpt
Earlier this year, Jason Momoa unexpectedly dropped out of Sony’s Helldivers adaptation. His departure did not sink the live-action project, though. The studio and director Justin Lin were continuing on with their quest to bring freedom to the universe. But obviously they had some pretty big shoes to fill without their former leading star. How would they do that? By finding another large man. Reacher‘s Alan Ritchson has signed on to star in Helldivers, which will now hit theaters in 2028. Follow
EBENEZER Releases the Year's Worst Trailer (opens the original)
Read excerpt
The tagline for Ti West’s take on A Christmas Carol, titled Ebenezer, says, “Think you know his story? Think again.” I absolutely refuse to “think again,” because Charles Dickens’ iconic story is, quite literally, the story of Scrooge. That’s the whole thing. It’s the whole thing. But fine, whatever! Let’s imagine for a second it isn’t morally repugnant to cast Johnny Depp as the lead of your film in the year 2026 and give this movie a chance. Wild adaptations that riff off even the best source
WHALEFALL Popcorn Bucket Is Better Than a Whale Eating a Guy (opens the original)
Read excerpt
Whalefall is my favorite movie of the year despite the fact I haven’t even seen it yet. The reason is easy to understand. It’s about a whale eating a guy who then tries to escape the whale that ate him. Only it’s not a comedy. Only the film’s trailers all play like comedies. It’s great and I love everything about it. So obviously I am all-in on the movie’s popcorn bucket, because it’s a giant whale that will let me, a guy, eat out of a whale while watching a whale eat a guy. Even better? Special
