DOWAGIAC â The Dowagiac Union School board hosted its first meeting of the school year this week amid an era of change as the community adapts to the new-look district. Students, teachers and staff at the districtâs elementary schools have spent the first four weeks of the school year adjusting to the new Grade Level Center model. Under the new structure, the districtâs four elementary buildings have been reorganized to serve specific grade bands rather than traditional K-5 populations.
