Parents Rabab Ibrahim Al Zayad, 27, and Brandon John Ely, 28, of Wayne County, were charged Thursday in an incident earlier this week in which their three-year-old son passed around a loaded gun at his Canton Township daycare center. Al Zayad was charged with one count of unsafe storage of a firearm, a misdemeanor. Ely faces one count of fourth-degree child abuse, a misdemeanor, which carries a penalty of up to one year in jail.
