An investigation into the cause of a building fire in Huntingdonshire has concluded. Firefighters from Huntingdon, Chatteris and Gamlingay were called to Somersham Road, St Ives, at 6.47pm on Thursday September 24. Crews used breathing apparatus, a hose reel, and a jet to bring the fire under control and returned to their stations by 10.20pm. An investigation found the cause of the fire was accidental.

A dog was found seemingly abandoned in a too-small cage in Newton-in-the-Isle. It was reported yesterday afternoon, and the Rural Crime Action Team took the dog into care. Investigations into the matter are currently ongoing.
