Harvest is done and dusted. I was anticipating another dismal and disappointing year, especially having seen posts on social media of so many with underwhelming yields. Happily though the oats seem to have held their nerve in the dry weather and, on paper, have weighed-in average, and above in some fields. As I write, the combine (or parts of it) should be heading over to Little Goldsmiths Farm for harvest 2026. This will be the first time I’ve started harvest before the annual Becvar family holiday since a – not as disastrously as imagined – OSR crop several years ago.
