The 337.23-hectare-large Mount Jack Wildfire that’s burning north of Sooke is now considered under control. The wildfire was listed as under control in an update from the BC Wildfire Service (BCWS) on Sept. 29. The fire was first discovered on Sept. 20 some 12.5 kilometres north of Sooke and four kilometres west of the Sooke River, and quickly quadrupled in size in the first three days.
