Sewing Patterns? Fabric? Lace Trim? This Nonprofit Has It All. - The Source - Bend, Oregon (opens the original)

Fashion Workshop is on mission to help the crafty people out there in Central Oregon. As a bit of a crafty gal myself, I was surprised when I walked in that most items were under $10. Fashion Workshop, a nonprofit, opened its brand-new storefront Aug. 8, just outside of downtown Bend. The storefront features a space where guests can browse an array of donated fabrics, buttons, lace, sewing patterns and other accouterments to create nearly any article of clothing or accessory. Equipped with plant guidebooks, 289 volunteers gathered in six different locations, from Tumalo State Park to Farewell Bend Park to Sunriver to pick up trash and pull invasive weeds along the riverbank. About 2,100 pounds of garbage and weed were removed from Riverbend Park, Farewell Bend Park, Mirror Pond and First Street Trail. Another 600 pounds we
