    Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel announced charges against five noncitizens alleged to have voted in Michigan’s 2024 November general election, and a citizen who allegedly tried to register their noncitizen spouse. Michael Akioya, 39, from Oak Park, has been charged with one count each of: Akioya, a lawful permanent resident, though not an American citizen. He allegedly registered to vote in 2016 with an Inkster address, and voted with an Oak Park absentee ballot in 2024, according to Nesse
