High-power charging infrastructure is being planned to allow electric ferries to transport people and things across one of Estonia’s busiest ferry crossings. Norwegian company PSW Power & Automation AS has won a contract to deliver a Megawatt Charging System (MCS) for the Virtsu–Kuivastu route, which links the Estonian mainland with Muhu and provides access to Saaremaa. The system will have two charging points at each side of the crossing, with up to 5MW of charging power available on each side.
