I am having a bad day, which means my legs aren’t working and my fingers are stiff so typing is hard. I didn’t sleep well last night, because Rocky kept waking up and barking, and he is barking now. Luckily for all of us, I wrote a review of ’s new book for , which is great (both the book. and dare I say it, the review). So I am going back to bed, and I hope you enjoy this. Review of Lo

As I mentioned last post, I was due for my first colonoscopy. I am in my late 40s, and I am also prone to the wellness-doomscrolling that informs you in no uncertain terms that there is A RISE IN YOUNG (i.e. under-50s) PEOPLE DYING OF COLO-RECTAL CANCER. I am a week late, but summer and July and whatever. In light of that, I might even be early! In any case, here I am. I’m having a weird moment because my disability appears to be progressing, which is unspeakably irritating and a little bit scary. I am starting new physio after we get back from the beach next weekend, and I am hiring care nurses for the first time for when Michael starts teaching in September, and I am trying to move forward. Mostly I don’t want to exhaust Super Spouse’s ability

I meant to write something last week but we were coming out of a major heat dome and I just couldn’t get it together. It got up to 100 degrees F here in Massachusetts, and there were days when it was hotter here than in New Orleans or the southern California desert. (I have stepdaughters in both locations, so I know this is true.)I wrote the beginning of something but it was basically that it’s so damn hot, and that my air conditioning at full blast was only able to cool my house down to 79 degr
