Artists of all stripes are worried that our creations will be supplanted by AI. There are immediate material implications. In my neck of the woods, musicians now must reckon with software like Moises, which, for example, can write a serviceable big band arrangement of an existing song. The craft of orchestration and arrangement, which musicians have studied in an academic environment or otherwise, does not have the same financial premium. Software can deliver something in a fraction of the time.

Hello everyone, thanks for tuning in! I wanted to share news of my next release, Fantasy & Reveries. This is a piano solo record of my compositions. Thanks for tuning in, dear reader. This post is a hybrid. First off, I wanted to mention some very exciting gigs I have coming up at the end of the month. I will be performing the music from my last release, Ride into the Sun, with some of the key musicians who appeared on the record: Mandolinist and singer Chris Thile, drummer Matt Chamberlain, bassist John Davis (who also engineered and mixed the record) and orchestral conductor Dan Coleman. Extra-cool is the opportunity to work with Blake Mil
