This, though, is not really true: religion makes claims about the world, and there are states of affairs which are such that their obtaining should raise or lower your credence in that religion. It may be true that those who are religious can always modify their hypothesis to fit ~any piece of data, such that they are unpersuadable: but notice that this roughly applies to science too.
