I was intrigued by the Downbeach Express Bridge - a private, cash or permit only expanse in the middle of nowhere, that I had driven over the day before.     Monday was Labor Day - so Mondays auction was held on Tuesday - and since many of the regular buyers had gone off to Brimfield ( Massachusetts) for the weekend - it was a light sale and the auction ended early.     There wasn’t much for me to buy at the Cowtown Flea Market - if hadn’t been so hot, I would have picked up few of those very healthy looking houseplants, but I didn’t think they’d survive three days locked in my sweltering van.
