Something a smidge different this time (opens the original)

I’m not in a place to write creatively just now (more about that in a minute) so my something a bit different to share is: Podcasts. (Note: not so much with the video interviews, as very few people are great at drawing out their guests) all that said, I do enjoy me a great podcast. My criteria is pretty simple: It has to be interesting, fresh, share something that will actually help me grow, be uninvolved in politics, be unrelated to any organized religion, no one who whines, or is overly full o

I thought I didn’t have anything to say this morning, yet I found myself reading along with a few of my favorite authors, nodding, slowing down to reread an excellent phrase twice more, shaking my head “no no a thousand times no” at what another person presents as interesting (to them the style certainly is), versus what’s annoying to others and realizing that, duh.. I have some biases I’ve yet to explore. Both things can be true at once; I adore and relish reading one author, and another essay

In the year of a therapist, Continuing Ed happens (opens the original)

I’ve been learning the latest educational research about helping suicidal clients and how to provide mental health support as part of a disaster response team. I’m midway through courses on each of these topics. It’s been interesting, and has pretty much sucked up all my mental bandwidth width for a few weeks. Having my counselor’s hat on diminishes creative writing time, but it’s an important part of who I continue to be.<a class="image-link image2 is-viewable-img" href="https://substackcdn.com
