A few mornings ago, on my drive into the Vision Center, YouTube Music tossed an old Amy Grant song from the 80s, “El Shaddai” in with my normal modern Contemporary Christian music. As I listened, I convinced myself that Amy was mixing Hebrew and Greek names for God in the song because of the word “Adonai” which sounds a lot like the name of the Greek god “Adonis”. So I asked Google about it, the modern equivalent of my encyclopedia deep dives when Amy released that song in 1982.
