This Saturday is German Unity Day, and Berlin has its own reasons to gather. Tag der Clubkultur kicks off with around 130 events running until October 11, under the motto Stay Core. Today’s the first day of autumn, and Berlin feels sunny and clear, which matches the weekend ahead. My highlight is the documentary on Jocy de Oliveira, premiering Thursday at Sinema Transtopia. If this weekend is too full, go later, when things are calmer; it runs well beyond Art Week. Most exhibitions do, so this weeken

One of the things that made me happiest about this year’s Berlin Art Week program is how much room it gives to sound. BAW even built an official route around it, Ways of Listening: eight stops through installations, performances, radio, and listening sessions. I used that route as a starting point, then built my own version on top of it.There is one thing here I have been waiting for: the R
