Making the most of our Northern Rail discount tickets, we crossed the border into deepest Lancashire to sample beers in and around the markets of Preston and Chorley. It was a thoroughly enjoyable day out: we were really impressed by the vibrancy and bustle of both towns, as well as the quality of the drinking venues available to locals and visitors alike.
