This is a post about how music has a deep tap root in nature. It is to do with the way listening to or playing music mirrors the process of ecological interaction. That the way that a bramble hedge, if left, advances to provide a nursery for saplings has something in common with the way the score for Beethoven’s 5th symphony acts upon the nervous system of the musician playing it. Both are creative procesess, ones in which relational patterns emerge, become richer and more complexed.The Ecomusic
