    I ran across this video while browsing Substack. (Thanks to ) The great Jon Batiste sings Dolly’s “I Will Always Love You” as his tribute to her.Although the song is usually heard as a romantic breakup song, it was originally written in 1973 as a business breakup song. Dolly had been a part of Porter Wagoner’s TV show, and it brought her enough notoriety that she thought it was time try to make it on her own. Porter was resistant, so she wrote the song as a way to try to smooth things.<
