My summers as a kid were spent between the Rance tidal dam in Britanny and the windy flatlands of Niedersachsen covered in wind turbines. This probably explains how I ended up in Denmark, the paradise for wind turbine (and bike) lovers.

And rightfully so, as the state still produced over 40% of the USA’s crude oil in 2024, hosts several Big Oil companies’ headquarters and is home to an impressive list of American oil dynasties.
