    John Crowley, author of Little, Big and the Aegypt cycle, has died. These two pieces originally appeared in my Astral Weeks column for the Los Angeles Times, on Oct. 7 and Nov. 4, 2007, under the headlines “A Word-Magus Gets His Due” and “Go Down, Crowley: The End of ‘Aegypt.’” ¶ I spent a lot of time with his books for these two pieces, which look disconcertingly slim (now that I’ve copy-pasted them).
