The late summer fish behavior is beginning to transition to fall behavior here in the Ely area. Anglers reported to us the last couple of days that they were having amazing success catching walleyes up against windswept shores in 3-8 feet of water. People are getting back on the water, both in and out of the BWCA, but fishing success has been a mixed bag. Well after a couple of weeks of no fishing report, we are back. Our hot weather has, for the most part, stuck with us all through July. Finally though, the temps have cooled slightly; when I woke up on Wednesday morning it was only 45 degrees!
