They close on 10/1!This week Monica texted me a really interesting bit about nostalgia that she’s going to work into a piece for this coming addition. Annoying really, because now it feels better than anything I was going to talk about. So I did what anyone in my position would do. I googled “Nostalgia,” scrolled as fast as

Over the last several years, I’ve become my family’s memory keeper. Or, at least, I’ve grown conscious of the role. A group of guests are invited under enticing yet dubious circumstances to a remote island and one-by-one they are murdered, each in a different way. The twist (spoiler) is that the murderer is one of the guests who, in an attempt to evade suspicion, fakes his own death partway through the novel. This is revealed at the

Picture this: I’ve forgotten the decorations at home, Mary and I are printing Proust questionnaire worksheets on purple and yellow paper, and putting together a charcuterie board and themed batch cocktails faster than any person ever should. It’s warm, but not too humid. I am nervous sweating even though the purple velvet dress I’d thrifted in grad school is more of a nod to clothing than actual clothing. There is obligatory stress about headcount. Signs are being fastened to doors with directio
